La candidatura de Barack Obama para la presidencia de los Estados Unidos sigue dando de que hablar en muchos terrenos, no solamente en lo político. Muchas personalidades de la música (sobretodo de la raza negra) ha declarado su total respaldo al candidato afroamericano.

Uno de ellos es Ludacris, quien compusó “Politics (Obama Is Here)” en honor al candidato para demostrarle su apoyo. Sin embargo, el equipo de campaña ha declarado su rechazo a la canción al considerarla “escandalosamente ofensiva”.

Durante la canción, Ludacris llama “discapacitado mental” a George Bush y también insulta a Hillary Clinton (ex precandidata demócrata) y a John McCain (candidato republicano). Bill Burton, vocero de campaña dijo:

Como Barack Obama ha dicho muchas veces en el pasado, hoy las letras del Hip Hop perpetuan con demasiada frecuencia la misoginia, el materialismo e imágenes degradantes que él no quiere que sus hijas o cualquier niño estén expuestos a tales.
